Stage Info

Your stage transport will leave Rotorua at 6.00am to arrive in Te Kuiti at 7.30am. Te Kuiti main street will be the starting venue and the ride begins on the route we took into Te Kuiti from Rotorua (20kms) and then heads South through very quiet roads and rolling hill country before joining the main road into Taumaranui  for the last 15kms.

The finish and lunch before the 45 minute drive to National Park village and our second stage. This will be optional and not count in the overall Tour times. You will be grouped and ride in your categories and the first person to ride into the front portico (in your grouping) of the Chateau will receive the $50 cash prize to go to their charity and $50 to shout a drink for the second and third riders!

Stage Brief

There is plenty of parking in the side streets and behind the start. All support vehicles will travel on the direct route into Taumaranui (State Highway 73) leaving, before the ride gets underway at 9.30am. The first 20kms is on a busier route as is the last 15kms. The weather should be noticeably warmer. When all riders have completed this stage, we will transfer to The National Park village (40mins drive). You will congregate in your race categories to ride as individuals the 12 kms to The Chateau (optional).
